This morning we attended the 2nd day of 7790's District Conference. We had the pleasure of learning how 7790's clubs have helped not only the local region through running a food bank and assisting a program about the importance of organ donations, but they have helped the international community as well in Nicaragua, by helping isolated villages obtain potable water without have to walk for miles. These are all amazing service projects and it really helped drive home what Rotary does for all people, what a great organization. After listening to these wonderful presentations, it was our turn to take the stage...
Kitty introducing the team in French, she did a wonderful job! |
Ashley telling the audience about herself, probably about how the cows watch her when she gets the mail at work. |
The GSE Team with 7790's District Governor Norman Angell (R) and Serge Gouteyron (L) being presented with gifts. |
We presented before lunch being served. We had been asked to give our speeches in English due to time constraints, which actually made it a bit more difficult since we have only done our speeches in French. We did keep some our speeches in French to honor the bilingual nature of the District, but the majority was in English. We all did very well, even if we went over our time limit by a few minutes. After our speeches, we presented 7790's District Governor Norman Angell with a gift from our District Governor, after which he surprised us with a gift! Thanks again to Rotary District 7790, you continue to treat us very well and live up to and surpassed any expectations of Rotarians.
After lunch, the GSE team had the chance to go to Old City Quebec for some shopping. Here are some pictures:
Mmmmm, candy! |
Walking Old City Quebec, a very beautiful area with some nice shops. |

Lots of stairs, 117 to be exact... |
It's a Canadian Bear-Mountee. |
Trey and Marc Bergeron, a truly funny guy and one of our many drivers who took time out of their busy schedules to ensure we got to where needed to be. Thanks Marc! |
